Collection: Le Noel Surfboards
Olie, originally from the North Island of New Zealand, has been shaping surfboards by hand since the age of 17. Olie's practice is a harmonious blend of tradition and innovation, rooted in taking old, classic designs and infusing them with modern performance elements.
His journey began in Dunedin, learning under Graham Carse, and later expanded to Indonesia, Bali, and Portugal, where he refined his craft with mentors like the Wave Gliders team and Nico. In Encinitas, California, Olie crossed paths with the renowned Jim Phillips, whose insights into surfing history inspired him.
Now based in Gisborne on the East Coast of the North Island, Olie combines traditional craftsmanship with modern innovations in surfboard design. His bespoke boards reflect a blend of speed, glide, and agility, embodying the wisdom imparted by mentors such as Wayne Parks, Phil, Graham Carse, Nico, and Jim Phillips.
